These paintings were intentionally looser and softer, but sometimes turned out to be more figurative and traditional. In all of them, I was looking to capture the essence of places I have loved or moments from my life, perhaps slightly out of focus when recalled from memory. Creative work is always an adventure. I set out with a very definite intention and frequently find I end up with something completely different.
